Hello there, I'm so glad you found me! My name is Jeff and I am the heart of J. Darren Photography! Darren is my middle name, I get asked a lot how I came up with the business name. Let me tell you a bit about myself and what I do. My start with photography was back in 2004, when I started taking photos as an outlet.  I felt peace and enjoyment in seeing the beauty and life in the world.  I really enjoyed shooting landscapes and things like that, never intending that it would ever become anything more.

Taking photos gave me a good creative outlet and I had a lot fun with it. I was a general manager for Chick-fil-A and was ready to move on from working in the restaurant industry.  So I did a little soul searching and felt the Lord's direction to take on photography as a career.  I then committed myself to pursue photography on a more professional level. I was excited and scared at the same time: after all, shooting a wedding is major responsibility -- no second chances, right?

I took the time to train and educate myself, and worked as an assistant for awhile and after many weddings as a second shooter, I decided it was time to step out on my own and I've never looked back since.

Since then I have gone onto having some pretty amazing accomplishments in the industry. I have had over 30 magazine cover shoots, featured in countless local and national magazines over the years, featured on Fox 8 news, and voted one of the top photographers in my area from several sites. So far I have shot over 400 weddings and taken near a million photographs.  I am so grateful for the many reviews my clients have been kind enough to leave me, there's a tab at the top that will take you to see them if you would like.

I do believe God ordained marriage to be between a man and a woman.  I am just going to come out and say it.  This is what the Bible teaches us.  Therefore I will respectfully decline any same sex weddings or photography.  Please know that I love and respect everyone and have friends in this community.  However, I simply do not feel comfortable nor feel it is right for me to pose, make you kiss, or create this type of material.  Please understand that it is by my personal convictions for my decision and mean no disrespect to anyone.  James 4:17

I have been married to my lovely wife for nearly 25 years and have two wonderful and amazing kids. We have two chihuahua dogs and enjoy things and outings just about as much as the next person. One thing I am beginning to understand is just how precious life truly is. It really does go by quickly so cherish each other as much as you can. It is the number one reason why I enjoy what I do. Looking back at my own family pictures and seeing my kids at a younger age has real meaning now. That's why I make sure to capture the emotion and meaning for all my clients and see things that I know they will look back on and cherish.

I am absolutely thrilled to help people capture their most precious moments together! My approach is easy. Have fun, enjoy the moment, relax and I'll take care of the rest :)
